Director statement : ‘Cereal’ tries to capture the nature of one’s subconscious and their dream state under stress and dilemma of being a nature’s creature; who is forced to go against the wind to survive in a monetary society, while craving their primal inclination to slow down, connect with the greens, and live life without man-made stakes.
Bio : Anusha Halwai is a visual artist deeply interested in exploring the nature of co-existence between wildlife and material progress. She takes strong inspiration from her South Asian traditions and craftsmanship to unfold the same. She is passionate about visually expressing the power of empathy and observation through mediums such as films, illustrations and animation. Anusha is committed to discovering the potential of art in this highly volatile and political world where most things go unnoticed and unsaid.
Pebbles Underground is focused on showcasing and promoting experimental, avant-garde, underground, and no-to-low budget projects by artist-humans from all over the world. Absurd, uncanny, witty, humorous, slow-video – all are welcomed, and loved.
Pebbles Underground is an independent project not funded by any government or corporation, and we intend to keep it that way. Main source of funding is personal donations from humans organizing the project, who are artists themselves, and the main drive of the project is formed by the energy and involvement of the organizers, and the public.
