SE77E – FOR 7 MOUTHS 7 VOICES IN 7 PARTS by Vinz Beschi | Italy (2022)
Every day thousands and thousands of words surround us. Mouths that open and close in an overwhelming explosion of information and messages that become a disorienting background noise.
I think it’s important to take the time to really filter and understand what we’re being told, to avoid feeling overwhelmed by the noise of the words.
The number 7 has always fascinated me. In addition to its symbolic, magical, kabbalistic and meaningful strength, it is its sign and its sound that are imprinted on my mind.
In recent years I have collected more than 70 mouths that pronounced the word seven. Among these I have chosen 7 who have become the performers of this video.
7 mouths for seven voices enclosed in the time of one second each for a total of 7 seconds original shot.
Starting from these 7 seconds I built 7 parts / acts playing on more or less coded musical forms to obtain a video / theatrical piece where the 7 mouths play their part in harmony with the others.
Theories claim that mind and body regenerate every seven years, I just have to let the seven give me moments “thoughtless 🙂
Bio
Vinz Beschi is a professor of Didactics of Multimedia and Cultural Heritage in the specialist two-year period of the II° level diploma course Department of Communication and Didactics of Art at the Accademia Santa Giulia in Brescia.
Pebbles Underground is focused on showcasing and promoting experimental, avant-garde, underground, and no-to-low budget projects by artist-humans from all over the world. Absurd, uncanny, witty, humorous, slow-video – all are welcomed, and loved.
Pebbles Underground is an independent project not funded by any government or corporation, and we intend to keep it that way. Main source of funding is personal donations from humans organizing the project, who are artists themselves, and the main drive of the project is formed by the energy and involvement of the organizers, and the public.
