A wonderful place called The Canteen welcomes a new customer.
Director Statement
I use unorthodox techniques to create atmospheres that force the mundane and the strange into alignment.
Bio
I started out making experimental music using visual programming languages and analog tapes. I wanted to add a narrative and started adding spoken word. Becoming more interested in writing and educating myself with experimental fiction, I focused more on short stories and script writing. Seeking a visual dimension, I confounded a puppet theatre collective which put on shows at festivals and at music gigs. Researching into puppetry’s history and discovering its use in animation (particularly shadow puppetry) I became interested and enrolled in an Animation BA at UWE Bristol. I quickly became interested in the potential for experimentation in stop motion animation and its broad history of approaches and techniques.

Pebbles Underground is focused on showcasing and promoting experimental, avant-garde, underground, and no-to-low budget projects by artist-humans from all over the world. Absurd, uncanny, witty, humorous, slow-video – all are welcomed, and loved. Pebbles Underground is an independent project not funded by any government or corporation, and we intend to keep it that way. Main source of funding is personal donations from humans organizing the project, who are artists themselves, and the main drive of the project is formed by the energy and involvement of the organizers, and the public.
