BERENICE by Mario Lim Brown
USA (2024)
A man struggles to control his mania in the face of sickness and death.
The goal with this film was to experiment with boiling the elements of horror filmmaking down to their bare essentials. From initial scripting to final export, the process took four days and served as a challenge to myself to use as little preproduction, equipment, and postproduction time as possible to evoke feelings of suspense and dread.
Bio
Mario Brown is an independent filmmaker based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Rochester, New York. As a director, he has specialized in making low-budget, genre short films.
Pebbles Underground is focused on showcasing and promoting experimental, avant-garde, underground, and no-to-low budget projects by artist-humans from all over the world. Absurd, uncanny, witty, humorous, slow-video – all are welcomed, and loved. Pebbles Underground is an independent project not funded by any government or corporation, and we intend to keep it that way. Main source of funding is personal donations from humans organizing the project, who are artists themselves, and the main drive of the project is formed by the energy and involvement of the organizers, and the public.
