“La casa del Minotauro”: el Teatro Argentino como laberinto de ficciones @ojoreja.films
The main THEME is the theatrical magic, the anguish of frustrated artistic careers, but it also talks about the manipulation of reality and representation.
BACKGROUND: The feature film “La Casa del Minotauro”, a work that has a long history in its filming, beginning in 2008 with the first records and began to be assembled, through editing, in the midst of a pandemic in 2020. This Ojoreja Films production addresses the labyrinthine nature of memory and chooses to enclose the story of its plot within a theater, a fiction factory, also mixing in some of the reality typical of documentaries, but erasing the limits of each genre through meticulous assembly work.
In this film there is also the imprint of the artistic careers of its creators, who, coinciding with the characters, their lives have been linked to theaters by their family, entailing the pressures that this means. Seeing in the film how the weight of fighting to maintain an artistic career in life is even greater, when you are a woman.
