“The Museum of Modern Trash” (00:08:00) by Isabella (Izzy) Bown, UK, 2023

The Museum of Modern Trash is an 8 minute atmospheric, surreal short film. It blends

Surrealism with Science Fiction. In a strange future world, a reclusive naturalist’s life is upended by the arrival of a strange new exhibition. Causing them to confront the many fears that have laid dormant in the back of their mind.

The film seeks to touch on issues like estrangement and anxiety, it questions what it means to be part of society in the modern age.

Isabella has directed five short films over the course of three years. Her style has gradually developed into an arthouse/experimental genre which can be seen in her most recent two films. Reverie being the latest. The use of colour and minimal dialogue has become a key theme in her work in which she continues to challenge and push her own boundaries with.

Pebbles Underground is focused on showcasing and promoting experimental, avant-garde, underground, and no-to-low budget projects by artist-humans from all over the world. Absurd, uncanny, witty, humorous, slow-video – all are welcomed, and loved. Pebbles Underground is an independent project not funded by any government or corporation, and we intend to keep it that way. Main source of funding is personal donations from humans organizing the project, who are artists themselves, and the main drive of the project is formed by the energy and involvement of the organizers, and the public.
