In a construction site, where height represents a constant risk, gravity dictates the rules of the game.

This short film explores the theme of falls from height through an unprecedented visual language, merging sport and artistic performance. A pole vault athlete brings her extreme confidence with height to the screen. For her, falling is an act as calculated as the leap itself.

Alongside her, the world of construction comes to life through a street dancer who transforms the gestures of working at height into a tight choreography, based on a precarious balance between lightness and danger.

The film conveys a fundamental message: in sports, as in work, protection, concentration, and safety are vital; however, unlike a sporting competition, there is no room for error on a construction site.

Director’s statement
HigH is part of the “Arte e/o Lavoro” (Art and/or Work) project, inspired by two key principles of the “Pact for Work and Climate” of the Emilia-Romagna Region.

The importance of these principles is also recognized by several goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Our mission: to raise awareness about Goals 1, 8, 10, 15, and 17 of the 2030 Agenda through the power of emotions.

HigH has obtained the GREEN FILM certification: a mark of approval that recognizes our commitment to environmental sustainability in audiovisual production.

The film addresses the critical issue of falls from height in the construction industry. To interpret this theme, we chose someone who has made “falling from height” her profession: Great Nnachi, the 2023 European Junior Pole Vault Vice-Champion. Selected by FIDAL and provided by the Carabinieri Sports Department, she brings technical mastery to the delicate subject of the fall.

Representing the world of construction on screen is the internationally renowned choreographer and dancer Carlos Kamizele, Urban Dance World Champion (Singapore 2013).
