“Public Storage” (00:11:00) by Elizabeth Levin, USA, 2021

“Public Storage” investigates three generations of women searching for their identity within the context of their shared family history. Beginning with a confidential adoption in 1927, the video traces key traumas that each woman encountered. The narrative is built through bureaucratic documents and personal letters set amongst the backdrop of eighty years worth of family photographs mixed with paintings and photographs by the artist, which were inspired by these images.
