“Sjhlrùl” is a film where the viewer is immersed in the world of pigeons. A world that is both very real and completely imaginary: the pigeons interact with each other, comment on what they see, complain or ask questions…Although the voice we hear is human, the text read was written by the pigeons themselves (pecking bread on a computer keyboard).
A dozen readers interpreted pigeon’s poems freely and in a very personal way, letting themselves be carried away by the particular rhythm, sounds, sequences of consonants, punctuations, repetitions, creating a completely imaginary language – or rather languages - both close and completely far from what we’ve already heard.
Bio
Born in 1991 in Liège, Anna Mancuso lives and works in Brussels since 2015.
Anna Mancuso completed her Master’s degree in “Performing Art with a specialized focus on documentary cinema” at the University of Liège in 2014.
Since 2016 Manscuso has been developing a video, documentary and experimental practice, alongside a sculpture practice.
Pebbles Underground is focused on showcasing and promoting experimental, avant-garde, underground, and no-to-low budget projects by artist-humans from all over the world. Absurd, uncanny, witty, humorous, slow-video – all are welcomed, and loved.
Pebbles Underground is an independent project not funded by any government or corporation, and we intend to keep it that way. Main source of funding is personal donations from humans organizing the project, who are artists themselves, and the main drive of the project is formed by the energy and involvement of the organizers, and the public.
